Everyone wants to feel happy! Why? Because happy is easy. Allowing yourself to feel those yucky feelings of being stuck, not sure what path to choose, and the unknown can definitely put a damper on things. However, those feelings are coming up for a reason. You see, heavy emotions can get a bad rap and are often pushed into a hidden place within you because you don’t want to deal with them. But they are there to serve you just like a light bulb going off to get your attention. At this point in your life, you have probably figured out that these feelings will surface again and will continue to pop up until you acknowledge them. Pushing them away only postpones the inevitable. While it is encouraged to stay in a positive mind frame, it is also important to embrace the pieces of yourself that are needing some one-on-one time with you. If you ignore these heavy emotions they will only hold you back.This week I challenge you to notice the feelings that you are avoiding. Just sit with them instead of shoving them back down.
- Why am I feeling this way?
- What am I afraid of?
- Am I holding onto what is familiar?
- Am I worried what other people will think?
- Do I feel guilty if I don’t help everyone?
- Am I resentful that others don’t see how much I help them?
- Why do I feel lost?
- What is my passion that brings me joy?
My friend, you are made up of so many beautiful intricate pieces and all these lovely pieces can feel a bit broken and may need some mending from time to time. Be willing to spend time healing your wounds so you can move forward. Your heavy emotions may hold the key to why you are feeling lost. Isn’t it time you acknowledge them and take care of you?
