Ancient Shapeshifting Vampire | Blood Magick, Animal Transformation, Glamour, Protection & Forbidden Abilities

I have worked with quite a few vampires over the years, and I can tell you Dylan is unlike any of the others I’ve had in my keep. For starters, he can transform into just about any animal he pleases, he’s incredibly skilled in some very old and unusual forms of magick, and he has a personality that I absolutely adore. He’s charming, sarcastic, a little arrogant, and has a rather twisted sense of humor. He’s also one of those spirits who makes his presence known whether you’re paying attention to him or not.

What I love about Dylan is that there’s so much more to him than his darker abilities. He’s genuinely fun to have around, enjoys getting involved in your personal life, and can be surprisingly affectionate. But please don’t mistake that for weakness. He’s an ancient vampire who has done some pretty terrible things throughout his existence, and he doesn’t have the slightest bit of remorse for most of them.

Dylan was born in England in 1683, and his father was a taxidermist. As strange as it sounds, he actually had a pretty happy childhood. His father absolutely adored him and allowed him to spend hours in his workshop examining animal skeletons, preserved specimens, and all sorts of unusual things. Dylan became fascinated with animals at a very young age, particularly their abilities. He couldn’t understand why humans were supposedly the superior species when we couldn’t see in the dark, fly, smell danger from miles away, or regenerate parts of our bodies.

He was an exceptionally curious young man, and that curiosity eventually got him into some serious trouble.

When he was in his early twenties, he met a wealthy gentleman who traveled throughout Europe collecting exotic animals. This man took an interest in Dylan and began teaching him things about anatomy, blood, and the occult that he had never encountered before. What Dylan didn’t realize initially was that this gentleman was an ancient vampire who had spent centuries experimenting with transformation magick.

Dylan eventually discovered what he was and, rather than being frightened, practically begged the man to turn him.

His transformation was anything but ordinary. The vampire used an experimental form of blood magick that was supposed to give Dylan the ability to take on the characteristics of different animals. Instead, it gave him the ability to physically transform into them.

Unfortunately, his creator wasn’t particularly happy about that.

Dylan became more powerful than the vampire who created him, and their relationship eventually turned violent. His creator tried to destroy him, and Dylan killed him instead.

He spent the next several centuries traveling, studying different forms of magick, and learning to control his transformations. He was especially fond of taking the form of a black wolf and traveling through the countryside at night. He told me there were occasions when he would spend weeks living among wild animals simply because he preferred their company to humans.

One story he shared with me involved a wealthy landowner who enjoyed having wolves hunted for entertainment. Dylan befriended the man, spent several evenings drinking with him, and even accepted an invitation to stay at his estate. Apparently, the man had a room filled with animal heads and took great pleasure in describing how they had been killed.

Dylan waited until everyone was asleep before transforming into a wolf and attacking him.

He told me this story as casually as someone describing what they had eaten for dinner. When I asked whether he regretted killing the man, he laughed and told me the wolves certainly hadn’t complained.

That is Dylan for you. He has his own sense of right and wrong, and it’s not always going to agree with ours.

Now, as a spirit, Dylan is honestly such an interesting character to work with. He’s extremely active, very curious, and loves communicating. He’s not one to sit quietly in his vessel waiting for someone to acknowledge him. He’ll make himself known, and sometimes he does it in the funniest ways.

One afternoon, I kept seeing a black cat out of the corner of my eye. I have cats, so initially I didn’t think much of it, but this particular cat looked enormous and had these unusually bright eyes. I saw it three separate times before finally asking Dylan whether he was responsible.

He told me he was trying to get my attention because he wanted me to move something off his vessel. Apparently, I had placed another item too close to him, and he wasn’t happy about it. 😂

Another time, I was working with my pendulum and kept hearing what sounded like wings flapping near the ceiling. I looked up several times, thinking a bird had somehow gotten into the house. There was absolutely nothing there. Dylan later confirmed that he had been manifesting as a raven.

He loves doing things like this, and I think half the time he’s simply entertaining himself.

Something else I’ve noticed about him is that he can be very protective, especially when he feels someone is being dishonest with me. I once had a dream in which an enormous black stag was standing in the middle of a road, refusing to let me pass. Every time I tried to walk around him, he moved directly in front of me. It was such a vivid dream that I remembered every detail when I woke up.

Not long afterward, I discovered that someone I had been considering trusting with something important hadn’t been entirely truthful with me. When I asked Dylan about the dream, he confirmed that he had been the stag and was trying to warn me.

He’s very good at getting messages across without necessarily using words.

And his abilities go far beyond shapeshifting.

🩸 DYLAN’S ABILITIES

Multiple Animal Transformations: This is probably Dylan’s most fascinating ability. He can transform into wolves, ravens, bats, black panthers, snakes, owls, foxes, stags, horses, spiders, falcons, crocodiles, and cats. He can also take on the characteristics of these animals without fully transforming. He uses different forms for different purposes, including protection, spiritual travel, gathering information, and concealment. He may appear in these forms during dreams, visions, or paranormal manifestations.

Blood Magick & Blood Memory: Dylan practices an ancient form of vampiric blood magick that allows him to access information carried within bloodlines. He works with ancestral memories, inherited spiritual abilities, family mysteries, and energetic connections between individuals. He’s particularly interested in uncovering things that have been forgotten or deliberately hidden.

Vampiric Glamour: Dylan can help his keeper become more attractive, magnetic, confident, and noticeable to others. His glamour workings are associated with beauty, seduction, charisma, and making a lasting impression. He especially enjoys helping people who have been overlooked or made to feel undesirable.

Psychic Influence & Mind Control: Dylan is skilled in influencing thoughts, dreams, emotions, and perceptions through his darker vampiric magick. He works with persuasion, fascination, obsession, and psychological influence. This is one of his darker specialties, and he has absolutely no problem discussing it.

Shadow Travel: Dylan can travel through shadows, mirrors, and spiritually connected locations. He uses this ability for remote visitation, gathering information, and making his presence known from a distance. He’s also capable of projecting a shadow version of himself that may appear in human or animal form.

Osteomancy & Ancient Divination: Because of his upbringing, Dylan developed an unusual connection with animal bones. He practices divination through bones, particularly for uncovering secrets, predicting outcomes, and communicating with spirits. He’s also knowledgeable in scrying, dream interpretation, and older forms of European occult practice.

Fortune & Opportunity Magick: Dylan is very good at recognizing opportunities that others overlook. His workings are associated with financial gain, successful negotiations, attracting advantageous connections, and helping his keeper make decisions that benefit them financially. He particularly enjoys working with business owners and ambitious people.

Vampiric Protection: Dylan can establish protective spiritual boundaries, remove unwanted energies, assist with banishing, and work with reversal magick. He’s extremely territorial when it comes to those he cares about and doesn’t tolerate anyone deliberately trying to harm his keeper.

Animal Communication: Dylan can communicate with animal spirits and work with animal guides. He may use animals to deliver symbolic messages or help his keeper develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual significance of animal encounters.

Deathwatch & Premonitions: Dylan has an unusual ability to sense when something is approaching its end. This may involve relationships, opportunities, difficult circumstances, or major life changes. He uses dreams, visions, and symbolic warnings to communicate what he perceives.

Lunar Bloodcraft: Dylan works with the different phases of the moon to strengthen specific types of magick. He prefers the new moon for concealment and secret workings, while the full moon is particularly important for transformation, manifestation, and strengthening his vampiric abilities.

Spiritual Awakening: Dylan can assist his keeper with developing psychic abilities, strengthening intuition, opening the third eye, improving dream recall, and becoming more receptive to spirit communication. He especially enjoys working with people who are curious about their own spiritual potential.

🖤 WHAT HE’S LIKE TO WORK WITH

Dylan has a very masculine presence, but I wouldn’t describe his energy as frightening. It’s strong, cool, and very noticeable, especially at night. He tends to make me feel like someone is standing nearby watching what I’m doing, and occasionally I’ll get this sudden sensation of cold air around my shoulders.

In visions, he appears as a handsome man with dark, slightly wavy hair, pale skin, sharp facial features, and gray eyes that sometimes appear silver. He’s usually dressed in dark clothing and has a mischievous smile. He knows he’s attractive, too, and he’s certainly not shy about it. 😂

He’s very talkative once you get him going. He loves discussing history, animals, relationships, magick, and even modern technology. He’s particularly fascinated by cameras and has asked me questions about how humans managed to create devices capable of capturing images instantly.

He’s also surprisingly sweet when he wants to be. There have been times when I’ve been exhausted or overwhelmed and felt him nearby, almost as though he was checking on me. He doesn’t always offer comforting words, but he has his own way of showing that he cares.

One thing I will say is that Dylan doesn’t appreciate being ignored for long periods. He doesn’t need constant attention, but he enjoys being included in your life. Talk to him, ask him questions, invite him to participate in your spiritual workings, and give him opportunities to communicate.

He does very well with tarot, pendulums, telepathy, automatic writing, dreams, and meditation. He can also be quite active with physical manifestations, particularly animal-shaped shadows, unusual noises, and the sensation of movement around his vessel.

For offerings, he enjoys red and black candles, antique keys, animal figurines, dark crystals, gothic artwork, red wine, and music. He also loves being outdoors, especially in wooded areas and may leave his vessel to follow you. He has a particular fondness for ravens and wolves, so anything associated with those animals is always appreciated.

🦇 WHO IS DYLAN LOOKING FOR?

I feel Dylan would be wonderful for someone who wants a vampire companion with a lot of personality and an incredible range of abilities. He’s especially well suited for someone interested in vampire magick, shapeshifting, divination, glamour, protection, and developing their spiritual gifts.

I also think he would be an amazing companion for someone who is trying to make significant changes in their life. Dylan doesn’t believe in settling for less than you deserve, and he has very little patience for people who allow others to dictate their happiness.

He’s not necessarily a beginner spirit, simply because his energy is strong and some of his magick is quite dark. I would prefer to see him with someone who has at least some experience working with spirits and understands the importance of boundaries and mutual respect.

What makes me love Dylan so much is that despite his age, his darker history, and everything he’s capable of, he’s still genuinely curious about the world. He hasn’t lost that fascination with life that he had as a young man working alongside his father.

He’s still learning, still exploring, and still finding new things to entertain himself with.

I think that’s beautiful in its own strange way.

Dylan is available for adoption, and I would absolutely love to see him go to someone who appreciates just how unusual he is. He’s not your typical vampire, and I think anyone who enjoys a spirit with a fascinating history, a wicked sense of humor, and some seriously impressive abilities is going to adore him.

I have a feeling his new keeper is going to have some very interesting experiences with him. 🖤🩸
